School Evacuation Maps
How evacuation maps benefit your school
As an integral part of any emergency action plan (EAP), school evacuation maps ensure swift and orderly evacuation in case of emergencies. Empower staff and students by indicating critical information, such as evacuation routes, assembly points, safety equipment and emergency exits. Internationally required, school evacuation maps increase occupant security by reducing panic and minimizing injuries in your educational facility. Stay prepared and meet fire code requirements with accurate and user friendly evacuation maps.

Evacuation map features to consider
Many local fire codes mandate the posting of emergency evacuation diagrams throughout public buildings. The placement, size, and content of these signs will depend on the facility’s Emergency Action Plan/Fire Plan and local fire ordinance requirements. Many buildings, particularly dormitories, should consider including a mini-site map on evacuation diagrams to indicate the designated “Assembly Area” or “Meeting Area” for post-evacuation gathering. Schools in areas that experience extreme weather should consider identifying emergency shelter locations on their diagrams. All evacuations maps are carefully designed to meet the unique safety requirements of the building.

Choose a sign material that fits your environment—Palboard (PVC) is ideal for high-traffic areas due to its durability and affordability. For a premium, long-lasting option, especially in schools, consider our Acrylic or White Aluminum signs.
